Design in the desert

If you are lucky enough to be planning a trip to LA, then I highly recommend you find a way to squeeze in a few nights in nearby Palm Springs. For just 90 mins in the car, it’s an easy drive with breath-taking scenery along the way. But take a deep inhale in, as it’s the Parker Hotel that really threatens to slam your jaw into the ground.

Designed by the iconic Jonathan Adler, the hotel design is quirky, cheeky, colourful and unbridled. A perfect example of mixing influences and era’s, the hotel has an eccentric old Hollywood vibe. Thick Morrocan textures sit against bright retro tiles, a giant banana sculpture sits playfully within the pristine gardens; the design is an inspiring recipe of contrasts and juxtapositions.
