Our designer’s guide to stone vanity’s

The vanity is the main statement piece in any bathroom. It is a multi-functional design feature that can define the overall aesthetic of the bathroom space. A favourite design trick of ours when designing a vanity is incorporating a beautiful stone top and backsplash to bring a touch of luxury and elegance into the room. Whether you have a small or large budget in mind, we’re here to help our clients create their perfect dream bathroom.

Stone is a versatile material that is simple and timeless, from marble to quartz there is a wide range to choose. Our two classic favourites are the Calacatta or Carrara marble due to their beautifully unique strikes of grey veins. If you want to create a seamless waterfall effect, you could book match the vanity top with the backsplash. If space is limited, a small dainty vanity with an up-stand could work, pairing this with a vintage mirror and drop pendants. A style that is true to our Scandinavian roots is a simple pure white stone with a beautiful warm wood joinery.

A stone bathroom vanity doesn’t have to be made from a stone with a white background. At Cat Dal Interiors, we always encourage our clients to be brave and bold. For a recent residential project of ours, we selected a dark stone with white veins for the vanity and created a wraparound backsplash to fit the entire wall width of the bathroom. For that unified appearance, we created bespoke sinks which we also wrapped around in the same stone. In this masculine en-suite, the brown and white veins of the stone add a touch of cool elegance, complimenting the blue panelling and contemporary furniture. Resulting in a design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but is practical and timeless.
