Our guide to Scandinavian furniture

We love going on the search for beautiful pieces of furniture for our clients, from antique shops to vintage markets. We feel a stand-out antique can really help elevate a space and work alongside contemporary design.

When it comes to Scandinavian furniture design, there’s more to it than meets the eye! As designers’ the choices we make are deliberate and the function is fundamental to us. Scandinavian furniture embraces the great outdoors, warm timbers and clean lines provide a calm and cheerful interior when the winter days are dark and short.

In our Primrose project we layered a beautiful vintage mid-century coffee table with vibrant plush Scandinavian style seating and clean contemporary joinery. We wanted to create a harmonious and calming environment, using timeless furniture for our client to enjoy for years to come. The light pastel architecture is a direct nod to Scandinavian design, enabling us to create an overall cosy but minimal space.

These beautiful antique high-back lounge chairs by Hans J Wegner, caught our eye recently. They would make a great statement in the right interior! Made in Denmark during the 1960s, the solid oak frame and adjustable neck pillow express a timeless design style. Hans J Wegner is known for being the master furniture design in the 20th century, producing elegant and well-made furniture still loved to this day- especially by us.
