Our New Home!
2016 has not been a great year in terms of worldwide dynamics…however on a personal note 2016 has been pretty incredible. My first year set up as CAT DAL INTERIORS, my wonderful wedding in Ibiza, a website face lift and finally the refurbishment of my split level north London flat!
LIVING ROOM:
After removing the laminate flooring we lay a smoked grey herringbone wood floor, fitted led recessed spotlights and painted the walls in Farrow & Ball’s Ammonite, setting a calm muted palette for the living room.
KITCHEN:
Not only was it overwhelmingly orange, the clunky units and enormous extractor fan took over the room, and I hated how the end units blocked out the window, so we ripped it all out! A Belfast sink over a lower unit and a free standing island made for a much better use of space and the brass features and marble tiled splash back create a modern and bright space.
TOP FLOOR:
At 5’10 and 6ft, my husband and I are rather tall, so we had limited head height which we fixed by building a dormer out to the eaves, giving us plenty more space and room for an ensuite. Fitted storage made the most of the eaves, and we built a Juliet balcony to flood the room in light and painted the walls in Farrow & Ball’s gorgeous Oval Room Blue.
In the ensuite we fitted Bert & May tiles as the splash back, and the wooden floor tiles gave warmth against the tadelakt walls.
