Abigail Ahern’s London Shop

If you haven’t heard of interior designer Abigail Ahern, then from theses pics it should be easy for you to see why she is one of my ultimate design heroes. Her style and ethos inhabits a rock ‘n’ roll/ rule-breaker attitude, with tons of character, textures, colours and shadows.

As a Scandinavian, we have been known to generally veer towards the more minimal, clean look – however this is a style I would absolutely love to adopt for the right client, and space. Dark walls can be an intimidating choice to some- but if your lucky to have enough natural light flooding through your windows, there is no reason why you can’t rock this!

As with any style, you don’t always have to commit 100%- it can also be a case of breaking down the overall image and just incorporating a few of these items that will give your space a more rounded, modern look.

Some of the walls in the shop were black and some deep red, with enormous pendants ranging in material from shells to sea grass to crystals. For me, the huge convex mirrors were a particular highlight, as were the shaggy pillows and fantastic range of fake plants.
